Just a short note to thank you for helping me set up a great few days sailing for me and my colleagues last week. The skipper Peter was excellent and helped us get the most from our experience – and the boat was fabulous and the weather came through in the end. I organised this sailing trip over 3 days for my team. Picking up and dropping them off at various locations in the Solent. Chris was very helpful in confirming the feasibility of my itinerary and selecting the right boat. We chose ‘Firesong’ – and she was a cracker. Very well equipped and a joy to sail – particularly in strong winds. Which was fortunate as we had gale force winds on the first day! Fortunately, the gales only lasted for the first day and the weather was absolutely perfect with good winds and sunshine for the remaining days. Under the superb guidance of Peter our pro skipper we managed to cover most of the Solent from Wootton to the Needles. All the pick-ups and drops offs went to plan and my colleagues, mostly novices, had a great time – which they will remember for many years to come. Finally thanks to Melanie who worked in the background at Universal helping to put it all together.

Weekend on Holman 26 “Teasel. Had a wonderful weekend sailing Teasel around the Solent in great weather conditions. The boat was in excellent condition and the welcome and handover process immaculately planned and implemented. Thanks to Chris, Jamie and Melanie for a great time.

Had a wonderful week onboard Oceanis 50 “Night Swimming”. The boat was in fantastic condition and the handover by Chris was really useful. We have also chartered Oceanis 37 “Splash”, which is another great yacht, I would highly recommend either. Great communications from the whole team. Also found the service very flexible and great value.

Have completed a couple of short boat handling courses with Universal as well as chartering twice for long weekends. The level of instruction is first class and it is a refreshing change to not have to share a cabin with a total stranger!

The best bit for me is however, when chartering the boats do not scream “charterer” as they are all un-liveried and they are presented in fantastic condition, with every piece of kit working as it should do without signs of the wear and tear you would normally get on a charter boat.

I for one will definitely be sailing with Universal again!

Great weekend with family and friends on Dufour 365 “Anhinga”. She was great to sail, and everything about the charter was extremely professional. Can’t wait to get out again next year.

The handover and admin was all very efficient. I was particularly grateful for your flexibility over the handover time, which cut me some much-needed slack to navigate the M25 on Friday afternoon! Thank you also for answering the many questions I had before the charter. I will definitely be looking to charter from your company again before the year is out.

Really interesting to read about the boat and Kim Holman her designer. Thanks for sorting the weather that we ordered, it made all the difference.

Thanks very much for a great weekend, Teasel is a lovely boat and a real credit to you. A lot of hard work has gone into her and she was the recipient of many admiring glances and favourable comments. We will certainly consider a further charter in the future and be happy to recommend Universal to others.

We were overwhelmed with how good the service and yacht cleanliness were compared with several years chartering from Gosport. We will definitely be back! Chris clearly takes great pride in ensuring everything is set up 110%, and to have that personal touch was a revelation. Brilliant!
