The elegant new 61 is the largest in Dufour’s fleet of stylish, contemporary cruising yachts.
The Dufour 61 is designed to be easily handled with a minimum crew and without the need for professional help. Exhibiting all the familiar Dufour DNA, modern and bright interiors with well designed, ergonomic decks and cockpits, the 61 offers an exceptional experience and sailing performance
Setting her aside from many of her rivals the hull and deck have been made from a mono bloc structure using an “infusion process” which allows exact control of the production process.
The main bulkheads are made from solid GRP and laminated directly onto the hull and deck, all of which create a highly robust single structure, stiff hull and deck for ultimate sailing performance which Dufour consider essential for a yacht of this size.
Long hull chines offer a stable hull with increased performance as well as creating added volume below decks all set off with Dufour’s signature half butterfly port holes.
The yacht is supplied with optional in-mast or a traditional mainsail, self tacking or overlapping headsails and options to fly a variety of down wind sails from the integrated fixed bow sprit.
The proportionately smaller coach roof which ends at the mast base has been designed to allow for a larger foredeck enhancing both style and comfort. This new design enables a massive amount of natural light to enter below decks through the single moulded plexiglass roof and many opening ports and windows.
The side decks are wide allowing easy movement around the deck and the numerous handholds and raised bulwark offers greater security when moving around the deck at sea. Integrated in the bulwarks are smart courtesy lights to light up the deck. Forward, there’s a large, deep sail locker, with access to the anchor chain locker.
The cockpit has been carefully designed to separate the functional elements of sailing with other areas offered for relaxation.
All the hidden control lines run under the decks and are led aft to each helm area where four electric winches give the helmsman fingertip control of all the required lines. Guests can be left to enjoy the spacious cockpit and its wide, drop-leaf centerline table with a fridge underneath.
Movement around the cockpit and on to the side decks is simple and unhindered. The large moulded steps are integrated into the coaming for safe and easy access up to the side decks.
The innovative split bimini allows easy circulation without ducking or restricted head room..
The black carbon fibre arch clears the cockpit and entrance below as well as allowing the mainsheet control to be at the end of the boom for less pressure and easier control.
The cockpit is fully enclosed on both sides with easy direct to the large dinghy garage area from the bathing platform which is suitable for housing a tender and lift raft when required.
There is plenty of seating and sunbathing areas, both around the central cockpit table and on a stunning aft sun-lounger situated between the two helm stations. The lounger is cleverly designed to also convert into another table with bench seats.
Situated at the back of the cockpit it’s the perfect spot for breakfast or refreshments after a swim from the generous bathing platform. Beneath this rear bench sit the Dufour legendary exterior galley, with barbeque, sink and fridge – perfect for alfresco catering and socialising.
There are various lay out options to suit each owners needs. The key distinction between the two layouts depends on whether you choose to take a professional crew or sail the boat yourself. In broad terms the forward galley is intended for those owners not requiring a dedicated skippers cabin aft.
The forward galley offers a traditional layout with 2 double guest cabins aft, a generous master cabin forward and optional side pullman cabin. There is still an optional crew cabin forward accessed from on deck.
The stunning master cabin, as spacious as it is luxurious, offers privileged private space for relaxation on the boat. You will appreciate the large wardrobe and numerous cupboards for infinite possibilities of storage.
The generously appointed, forward galley layout integrates with the main living space enabling sociable catering and hospitality, perfect for families and friends.
Alternatively the discreetly positioned port side aft galley leads to a dedicated skipper’s cabin, is ideal for onboard catering and hosting. Again there are additional pullman cabins to maximise accommodation.
Both layouts offer a generous and spacious interior living area and galleys with excellent stowage space and a high-capacity fridge/freezer.
As is a now a familiar signature of all modern Dufour models, the cabins and living areas are flooded with plenty of natural daylight through large windows, deck hatches and portholes.
A dedicated navigation table is situated in the main saloon, along with a large bench sofa, and an extendable dining table with extensive seating capacity. High quality wood is used throughout with a choice of interior woods and finishes.
