One of the world’s largest and most famous yachting races, the JP Morgan Asset Management Round the Island Race starts from Cowes, Isle of Wight, England on the 28th June 2008 and attracts an annual entry of up to 1800 boats of all shapes and sizes. What better way to enjoy the spectacle than to get in to the heart of the action before heading off to an anchorage to enjoy some fine wine and superb food.
2nd – 9th August 2008
Cowes Week is one of the world’s largest and most successful sailing events. With over a thousand yachts racing each day there is plenty of on the water action to enjoy. Afterwards spend the evening ashore soaking up the carnival like atmosphere before heading home.

Tradition will be honoured with 50 craft starting and finishing off the shores of Portsmouth, at Southsea Castle. The start will take place in two stages from Southsea Castle. The first at 9.30am and the second at 10.00am - so if you miss the boats at Gunwharf Quays, you'll have the chance to watch them blast out of The Solent towards Bembridge for their first leg of over 170 miles to Plymouth.
The Race will also finish at Southsea Castle, Portsmouth on Monday 30th June with the boats estimated time of arrival from 2.00pm until the early hours of the 1st July. |
